Ronda is located inland from the Costa del sol, Andalucia, Spain.

Ronda is in a very rural setting high in the hills away from the hustle and bustle of the coast.

You may well have seen a picture postcard of Ronda, which is perched high on a hillside. Rhonda in Spain is probably most renowned because the town is divided by a spectacular 300 foot chasm bridged by El Puente Nuevo (New Bridge), which gives visitors the chance enjoy the spectacular view and drop down to the River Guadalquivir. What a spectacular view. Don't look down if you are frightened of heights!

On the other side of the bridge, you will find the 16th century Convent of San Francisco and the historic gates of El Almocabar and Carlos V, which give access to the old town. Here you can enjoy many examples of Ronda's ancient history.

Pass through lower part of the town with a visit to the Arab baths and across the Puent Viejo (Old Bridge) and you will enter the more modern area of Rhonda with its Espana Square at the town centre.

Ronda has a bullring, which tourists can go inside and stroll around. Pedro Romero, reputedly the father of bullfighting on foot, created a bullfighting school in Rhonda, which annually recreates a traditional bullfight.

The surrounding areas also provide an opportunity to visit the white villages.

There is a large and well equipped tourist Information Centre in Rhonda where they provide recommended walks and other valuable tourist information and holiday guides about Rhonda and the surrounding areas.

If you are travelling to Rhonda from the coast bear in mind that while it is a relatively short distance from the coast the roads are mountainous and twisting.
